On April 7th and 9th Sonoma State’s School of Social Science and the Geography, Environment, and Planning Department hosted the first California Beaver Summit. The webinars hosted over 980 registrants representing 25 States and 4 countries. The talks focused upon the current and potential benefits of allowing beaver to re-colonize our streams such as refuge from fire, improved habitat for a wide range of California wildlife, and co-organizer Professor Jeff Baldwin presented research on how beaver could help mitigate against and adapt to changing climates.
