Minor in Sustainability
This minor is designed for students who would like to explore the issue of sustainability from a broad set of perspectives. The minor is interdisciplinary, which means that students take classes from several different departments across the University and explore many different aspects of sustainability.
Students examine three broad categories of sustainability:
- Sustainability in Nature and Built Environments
- Sustainability in Social, Economic, Business & Political Systems
- Sustainability in Culture, Ethics, and Equity
Degree Plan
Students take one foundation course (GEP 206), and then four additional elective courses for a total of 17 units minimum.
NOTE 1: Students must take at least one course from each of the three elective categories covering environmental systems, stewardship, and justice
NOTE 2: Students may take a maximum of two elective courses from any one department
NOTE 3: Students may take a maximum of two GE courses within the electives
