Student Clubs

GEP Club

"Our mission is to connect students and staff within the Geography, Environment, and Planning major through social events, educational pursuits, environmental campaigns, and volunteer opportunities."

The club sponsors various events, including academic lectures and social gatherings, intended to foster community and good times among students with similar interests at SSU. The club regularly plans potlucks, hikes, camping trips and educational tours of local environmental organizations. These events provide students with opportunities to network and keep up with the latest changes in their field.

Meetings are generally held on Thursdays via zoom and/or in person from 3:00-4:00 pm (announcements sent out via the GEP department listserv) or Instagram. The meeting time is used to plan events and discuss issues of general interest to the group.

Anyone interested in Geography, Environment, and Planning and having fun is encouraged to come!

Devon Sherber

I'm Devon, a Rohnert Park native and GEP major with a Geospatial Science focus and a minor in Computer Science. I'm convinced that climate change is the biggest crisis of our time, and I'm a firm believer in leaving every place you interact with better than how you found it, and that ethos is what led me towards environmentalism and native wildlife conservation. I love spending time in nature, listening to music, playing games, and reading about politics. If you see me on campus and need help with computer stuff, or just want to have a deep philosophical conversation, I'm always happy to lend a hand!

Hi! I'm Lily. I'm a Geography, Environment and Planning major with an emphasis in Environmental Systems. I am also pursuing a degree in Anthropology. I love learning about humans, the natural world, and especially the interaction between the two. Many of my big goals in life include travel, travel, and more travel. Perhaps even writing a book, learning how to successfully grow my own food, and to continue finding joy from the simple things in life. I love being a part of this wonderful GEP community and learning from all of you!
